Hello, I’m Emilie

Welcome to my blog!

I am a humanitarian aid worker, intrepid traveler, and mindfulness practitioner. Born and raised in the US, since the age of 20 I’ve lived in France, Senegal, Cameroon, Italy, Morocco, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Afghanistan, Niger, and have been camping out in Indonesia since COVID-19 hit. I’ve traveled to more than 55 countries and am fluent in French and English. My work has been all about helping people in developing countries, which has been both extremely rewarding and challenging. Life is an amazing adventure, and I’m here to share some fun stories and tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.

What can you expect from me?

  • Travel stories and advice, including features on specific countries, things I’ve learned, flashback adventure stories, and more
  • Mindfulness strategies, including how to start and maintain a meditation practice, dealing with stress and anxiety, how to have a home yoga practice, and more
  • Attempts at better health and wellness, including how to deal with chronic pain, adventures in cooking and eating overseas, and work outs that you can do anywhere
  • Tips on being a professional nerd, including career advice, writing tips, and reading lists

I look forward to hearing feedback from you on these posts – including what is the most interesting and helpful. Thanks for joining me!
